释义	公生明 gōng shēng míng公生明，偏生暗《荀子．不苟》:公生明﹐偏生暗。谓公正便能明察事理。后以此三字作为官场箴规。古代府州县衙门大堂前面正中竖立一石﹐向南刻上公生明三字；北面刻上尔俸尔禄﹐民膏民脂﹐下民易虐﹐上天难欺十六字。后因出入不便﹐改为牌坊。参阅清俞樾《茶香室丛钞．公生明坊旧是立石》。公正能明察事理。语出⎣公生明、偏生暗、端悫生通、诈伪生塞、诚信生神、夸诞生惑。此六生者，君子慎之。⎝《荀子．不苟》后来旧衙署堂前常刻立「公生明」一石，以警戒官吏。
