释义	化杖 huà zhàng亦作化仗。指古代神话中夸父逐日，其杖化为邓林的故事。后汉费长房遇一仙翁，欲求道。翁乃断一青竹，度与长房身齐，使悬之舍后。家人见之，以为长房缢死。大小惊号，遂殡葬之。于是长房乃随仙翁入山修道。辞归时，仙翁赠一竹杖。长房乘杖，须臾来归……家人谓其久死，不信之。长房曰:'往日所葬，但竹杖耳。'乃发冢剖棺，杖犹存焉。见《后汉书．方术传．费长房》。后用长房化杖入葬以求仙的故事喻指死亡。
