晩清至解放前一种介于钱庄与银行之间的旧式金融组织。总号设于北京，分号遍于各省市，所发庄票随处皆可汇付。因其执事者山西人居多，故称山西票号，也称山西票庄。旧时一种类似银行的金融营业。总号设在京师，分号遍于各省市，所发汇票随处皆可汇付。因其任职人员多为山西人，故称为「山西票号」。也称为「山西票庄」。
