释义	扬越 yáng yuè亦稱揚粵。我國古族名。百越的一支。戰國至魏晉時爲對越人的泛稱。其居地說法不一:一說因曾廣泛散佈於古揚州而得名，故亦以稱其居地；一說居嶺南；一說居江漢一帶地區。西周末周夷王時，楚君熊渠曾興兵伐庸，揚越，至於鄂，揚越之北疆漢水地區被兼併，後爲楚所並，楚王熊渠封其子爲越章王，其封國當即揚越之故地。
