释义	教外別傳 jiào wài bié chuán佛教里的禅宗。禅宗的传承据说是释迦牟尼佛在一次法会上，拈花微笑，坐中无人能解，只有摩诃迦叶能契悟佛意，因而得到佛陀的付法，启开禅宗以心传心的法门。因为此法门不经由经典教授，所以称为「教外别传」。如此世愚人谓：『教外别传，不立文字』，便疑《楞伽经》宋已有之，非达磨携至，岂不悖哉？《宋．郑昂〈景德传灯录跋〉》
