由中国残疾人联合会等五个单位联合主办的大型综合活动日。1988年中国残疾人福利基金会决定，将每年4月17日定为残疾人活动日。旨在动员社会各界开展义演、义卖、义诊、义捐等助残和联谊活动，推动残疾人事业发展。
