释义	直躬之信 zhí gōng zhī xìn楚國有個叫直躬的人，告發其父竊羊。官吏逮捕其父欲殺之，直躬者請代父死。臨刑前，告訴官吏說：「父親偷羊而舉發，不是誠信嗎？代父頂罪，難道不是孝嗎？信且孝者尚且被殺，國內尚有誰不可殺呢？」楚王得知，乃赦免。孔子得知，卻說：「直躬所謂的信非常奇怪，利用父親取得名譽。」所以說直躬之信，不若無信。典出《呂氏春秋．仲冬紀．當務》。後比喻一種沽名釣譽的小信。
