西藏地方
xī zàng dì fāng
地名。位於我國西部地方。面積一百二十一萬五千七百八十平方公里。地勢高峻，地表崎嶇，氣候乾寒，空氣稀薄。首府拉薩。西藏地方分前藏、後藏，前藏拉薩的布達拉寺是達賴的駐錫地，後藏日喀則的札什倫布寺是班禪的駐錫地。自中共重劃省區後，西元一九六五年原來的西藏地方增加了西康省金沙江以西的地區，合稱為「西藏自治區」，政治中心仍在拉薩。
