释义	護軍 hù jūn秦漢時臨時設置護軍都尉或中尉﹐以調節各將領間的關係。魏晉以後﹐設護軍將軍或中護軍﹐掌軍職的選用﹐亦與領軍將軍或中領軍同掌中央軍隊。唐中葉後﹐在神策軍設護軍中尉及中護軍﹐爲禁軍統帥﹐以宦官充任。宋不設。清制﹐京旗有護軍營﹐置護軍統領以管理之。參閱《通典．職官十六》、《清文獻通考．兵二》。唐以後歷朝置上護軍及護軍﹐爲僅有名號而無職事的勳官。清廢。參閱《續通典．職官十六》。清代以守衛宮城的八旗兵爲護軍﹐設護軍統領以下各職。
