彝语称诺合，含有主体的意思。主要指解放前凉山原属西康省，今属四川省等地彝族奴隶制度下四个等级中的最高等级包括土司、土目。他们是世袭贵族，一般是奴隶主阶级。约占当地彝族总人口7%弱，占有70%以上的土地和牲畜，并通过家支组织进行残酷统治。云南东北部和贵州西北部等地的黑彝，一般是封建主或领主。解放后，经过民主改革，这一等级已废。云南部分彝族的汉称。明清汉文史籍称为黑罗罗、大黑彝等。
